The only way I’ve found to get movie files off the internet is when they’re encoded with Quicktime. If you have a “registered” version of Quicktime, the little arrow in the bottom right corner of the player will give you an option to “Save as Quicktime movie”.
To save the “wmv” files from Reebok, just right click on the link and select “Save as…”

There is a program called Camtasia Studio that will grab streaming media files. It converts them to a proprietary .avi so they can control you and then sends a copy to themselves, stealing your bandwidth. The files can be converted via the program to industry stand .avi videos, which is a huge file format, not as efficient or as good as mpeg.
It’s really expensive.

i am wondering if there is a good way to grab those ‘streaming’ files that reebok uses, and save them as local files. i remember something about searching your cache for “*.mov” and that would bring up the cached files – don’t work with this one. any ideas out there?
here’s one way: check out the properties of the movie for the URL and then look on the second tab for the name of the file… put them together and you have your full file URL. WooHooo
